REST IN ETERNAL PEACE, JUSTIN KING

REST IN ETERNAL PEACE, JUSTIN KING

Beloved parishioner, Justin King, has passed away after bravely battling a sudden illness.  He has gone to the rest of his beloved God. Our prayers of gratitude are offered up to God for the gift that Justin will always be to his family, friends and parish community.

Justin was a friendly, generous, practical man of action and a wonderful presence in our community.  He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.  Here he is surrounded by family members at the Opening of the Stella Maris Church in Broadbeach, towards which he generously donated. And also pictured with his beaming smile, surrounded by Bishops and Priests at the same Blessing and Opening of the Stella Maris Catholic Church, Friday 27th February 2015. May He Rest in Peace.

We received this message from Bishop Tim Harris of Townsville, former Parish Priest of Surfers Paradise:

I was saddened to hear of the death of Justin King. I have already said a Mass for the repose of his soul.

Justin's extraordinary generosity is well known. Many people have benefitted from it, as has the Catholic Church. The new Stella Maris Church would not have been possible without Justin's financial support. When I first spoke about the project to build a new Church, Justin was one of the first to respond. He said: "You must build this Church."  Well, Justin stood with me from the beginning to the end. He encouraged others to support the initiative, and he was instrumental in keeping the dream alive.

Justin believed that the Church was for the glory of God, and he was very proud of the achievement. Justin was a true believer, I admired him for his tenacity and faith. He loved Jesus and Mary His Mother, and his wish was for a Catholic Church that thrived in the world. Justin will be missed by all who knew him. He gave of himself without counting the cost, and he did that literally.

May he now enjoy the warm embrace of his God. May he Rest In Peace. Go forth, good and faithful servant.    +Tim Harris, Bishop of Townsville and former Parish Priest of Surfers Paradise.

MOST REV. TIMOTHY J. HARRIS DD

BISHOP OF TOWNSVILLE
